Why is there a lack of focus toward the core of Vesteria?

I don’t mean to sound rude here, because as someone working toward getting into the sphere of game development, I know these bi-weekly updates are nothing easy to achieve. But at least to me (and many others in the community), the game needs a good chunk of fixes and reworks to be made to what exists, rather than new stuff. So I’ll go over that stuff here.

As many have mentioned, many of the older dungeons, and even newer added areas, end up deserted fast. Which I understand (having read a post from Goldkoi), that doing bi-weekly updates gives better odds of being seen by Roblox, and the team is working toward tweaking what’s being pushed-out now, so it isn’t blown through easily. While that does work for the current stuff, that still leaves older things that did die off quick, just stuck being dead. (ie: Tall Cap Grove. Far as I’m aware, that place hasn’t had any servers for months.)

The big issue I’d say a majority of us feel, is that the push for new stuff, is leaving the older stuff mostly neglected. There are exceptions, like reworking the rebirth system and the SQR dungeon. But at least for the rebirth rework, it made newcomers just want to rebirth over-and-over, which lost kinda the whole point of why Vesteria is, well what it is. Not like the 99% of Roblox titles, where rebirthing is basic practice.

Now, with that, what is honestly needed, is multiple Quality of Life updates. Each of which, focusing on reworking the dead dungeons & areas, to be what they should’ve been in the first place. Some of them, even working toward more of the UI elements of the game, which (while I know is being worked on, personally love what yall did to the settings menu.) needs a good bit of work. Like the minimap being way small for anyone in its full-screen form to see much, and the map being not-stylized (which it BADLY needs imo). Then there’s the hotbar, which tbh needs more styles for it. (With all the new stuff, it just feels fair to add more options.) The inventory needs more than just UI reworks though, for sure. But at least for it’s UI, along with the rest for the most part, make them equal with the setting screen. At least to me, all the UI that isn’t updated currently, just feels bland. Not in a particularly bad way, but they feel rushed and without much care put into them.

There’s also all the various bug-fixes needed, but I won’t speak on that here. Just since every update gets a wave of fixes anyways, and it’s clear that at-least the game-breaking ones get fixed. (But more care certainly needs to be put into that as well. I’m just glossing over it here, since that can be for another post.) Could also speak on all the things that are clearly cash-grabs, but as a player of multiple gacha-games, I’m used to it. (Not saying it’s good. Please make the stuff more do-able for F2P players. Not everyone is fortunate enough to spend on games.)

Just wanted to put this out, since I care about Vesteria. The game has great potential if fixed up, and I much rather not have the game die off. Have a good day/night devs, but just be aware of the things that need work.

I like this post.

I think I will mention like you have acknowledged, like issues with old content being completely swept away, that actions have been taken like SQR’s revamp, which appears to have made it the most popular dungeon in the game by far.

You’ve mentioned the UI a few times, but liek you’ve said, that has also been getting a lot of improvements and recently. The minimap wasn’t even a thing at all a year ago.

Overall, I think the updates as a whole are going in the right direction. We are getting a combination of new content updates, and revamps to existing content and QOL changes (UI overhaul, minimap system, night & day etc.)

Yeah, the content does feel like its going the right direction. I just mainly feel that despite the active changes with stuff like the UI and reworks toward older things, that those things aren’t being as prioritized as they should/could be.

I thought about it a bit after initially posting, but bi-weekly updates don’t need to be big things, so long as they’re still updates.

Just kinda wondering what the current plans are for development as well. Since it can sometimes feel like communication between the community & the devs, is weaker than it should be. Not saying its bad, but a roadmap every now and then for the game would be nice. Just so us players have a sort of idea toward what’s being made.
