Every location in Vesteria is bound to be either revamped or removed. I’m pretty sure that Crabby Den is the only location in Vesteria that’s never gotten a rework and it doesn’t need one. It’s old but gold. I just hope more people would check it out.
Location Removals
Coming back to Vesteria, I noticed a lot of maps removed from the game. Seaside Path, Scallop Shores, Enchanted Forest, Mushroom Forest and others I might’ve forgotten. Those maps were “filler” maps, yet they didn’t hinder the game experience for new players and made exploring even better. I still don’t know the reason for why they were removed, and it’d be amazing to revisit those places… Especially Scallop Shores. Might’ve been my favorite area to wander around in, probably because I’ve been a hunter main ever since I started playing the game. Going back on topic, if these maps were added back; exploring them would be rewarded with new quests, chests and potentially new enemies for the players to fight.
Location Revamps
First of all, I am a big fan of the revamps from the dev team. At first, I didn’t like them because I had the stance of “why change something if it works?”, yet after seeing Port Fidelio and the new Great Crossroads, I’ve changed my mind because basically every revamp improves the location’s experience and design. Great Crossroads feels so lively now with a bigger town in the middle, rather than the old 4 houses and paths leading to the class locations, and that’s it. So overall, the revamps so far are amazing and never seem unneeded.
Anyways, that’s what I think about both these topics. I’d love to see the old maps come back to make the game map seem bigger and give more new areas for players to explore. What do you guys think?

Why I do lament some of the old map removals myself but it’s understandable the developers would wish to streamline the experience to have it be more fluid for new players. The old Mushroom Forest, Redwood Pass and Enchanted Forest were definitely my top 3 favourites but they were large and easy to get lost in!
Having played through the entire game again recently to check up on all the quests some of the maps are clear improvements, Whispering Dunes especially feels way more expansive now than three years ago. The faction bases are all smaller than the ones prior, with the respective maps leading into them being integrated. Its beneficial for ease of gameplay as you don’t need to travel to a new map for every quest, but my nostalgia factor for the old maps is still quite strong!
There was nothing cooler than just walking around Enchanted Forest or Redwood Pass as they felt way more open and grandiose in scale compared to the current ones. Especially Redwood Pass and Warrior Stronghold I preferred the older versions, as they were unnecessarily larger than they need be simply for scenery. The redwoods extending far into the skyline at the path to Great Crossroads, the massive lake at Warrior Stronghold.. God it was beautiful! The new Redwood Stronghold map feels cramped in comparison!

I basically agree with everything you have said, and I have the same sentiment of enjoying the exploration,
Only thing I want to add is that the developers also have a pull to revamp lower level locations for player retention - this is part of the reason why mushtown has been updated the most out of any map. The devs want players to be able to see how great our game is within the first couple minutes to draw them in and keep the game sustainable, having a “pipeline” which is easier to follow allows for more people to get to the fun quicker. Personally I would suggest the re-addition of the older maps but slightly revamped for higher levels (mostly lvl 25 and above) to still allow for the exploration we enjoy but not confuse newer players.
