If you were CEO of Vesteria, what would be your first update?

Personally I would delete adventurer and have players choose a faction at the beginning of the game instead.

I would readd the opening cutscene and keep adventurer. starting off as an adventurer made sense when you saw the cart break down with you in it.

I would update tribute wars and colosseum, then add a massive guild update, remove mythics, add guild wars, release badlands, and also add a new warrior subclass. Then I would also probably finish the storyline, and focus on new content like an infinite dungeon.

I apologize now for the length of this post:

If I were CEO, my first update would have to fall within the category of: Player Acquisition and Player Retention. My honest take is that these two issues stem from the same root issue: the new player experience being rough. Most MMOs, especially on Roblox, lose player interest with 30 minutes to an hour at best because there is no hook into the game. The player logs in, gets overwhelmed by new information, feels zero sense of progression or personality, and decides to go elsewhere. So I would focus my first major update on that early game loop.

The thing is, myself included, is that there is a veteran player base established. People have, literally and figuratively, already bought into the game. New players are the ones that need a reason to stay past the first session.

What I would want to do is focus on the games “wow moment” which is the exact point in the game where a player goes: “This game is actually super cool.” Whether that be a first boss kill, or when you get your first class, or an item that helps you identify with the character. And you want this moment to hit hard. Personally, one game that comes to mind is Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The lead to be executed and Alduin appearing, and escaping Helgen and choosing a side of Storm Cloaks vs Imperials all within the first 5-10 minutes of the game is a GREAT hook and the whole thing is the WOW moment, I have HUNDREDS of hours in that game because of it. And of course one cannot copy another piece of intellectual work, BUT if I can make it so Vesteria can attract new players, that would solve in my opinion, a lot of problems that currently exist elsewhere in the game.

First make a balance team or more balance focused tester team to balance out all the items that are currently bugging the community.

After balance issues are taken care off the next thing i would tackle would be the simple qol stuff such as no skill resets in tol shop when stat resets are there.

next i would deliver on promises such as class reworks and new classes to the game (especially warrior they really need a new subclass)

Lastly i would try to release the dungeons that ive been working on such as sunken depths and new areas like badlands.

thanks for reading my 4 step plan

I wouldn’t say update per say is what I would change but more direction, I feel as though currently the games direction has been lacking in overall quality when it comes to it’s updates and I would aim to fix that.

Many people in the community can agree that the Tall Cap Grove update was poorly made with reused assets, a small map and lack of keeping players engaged. I would aim to fix this issue by dedicating more time toward updates preferably 3 weeks to a month so that updates have more time to be fleshed out while also keeping the consistent schedule. I’d also try and shift focus every 2-4 weeks to fix long standing bugs within the community this would be in the form of micro updates that would release in-between content updates so that game issues don’t feel neglected.

I would also make it a policy to do more sneak peeks and try and get players excited for new content by utilizing the sneak peeks channel more as it has been neglected as of recent. I also feel like our overall handling of staff related issues such as transparency would be something I would definitely change if I was in charge. I would try and make sure a direct line between all staff members existed and if an issue brought up was not addressed or a problem with an updates schedule or feature of the game was brought up I would clarify why such a feature exists or why the schedule is how it is.

I would also invest into the vanity, pets and character customization options such as a secondary headgear slot in the vanity section as these seem to generate both alot of money not only for our game but other games alongside this also investing into making more Vesteria UGC on roblox.

I’d like to add on a bit to this, I also think updates that are made to take longer to achieve the items or gear/prizes within the update would serve to benefit overall player retention such as the professions update. I believe the way the professions update handled such was poorly done as it encourages macroing over actual player input due to the absurdly high exp requirements but something akin to that style of update I feel would benefit the game long term.

make nilgarf bank make you pay tax on using it

Guild updates for both PVE and PVP

guaranteed drops after a certain amount of kills and remaking scrolls to not involve rng

delete knight → no
delete block chance → yes

knight needs an extreme dmg nerf to it’s 2h builds (generally removing physical from most 2h weapons [aqra sabre, crystal aqra sabre, savage axe, the anchors, non sub class locked great weapons, etc.] but also Cleave needs a higher pvp modifier :stuck_out_tongue:

removing block and warding is one of the best things that can happen rn. compensate with 50 max hp per 5% warding/block that something already has rolled.
I think that block should only come from base armors, boots, helmets and should not be a scrollable stat.

also knight just needs to be reworked to finally be useful on it’s intended use (support) and not be built entirely on being super fat and dealing dmg

Guild Update, Maybe add like pvp/pve points, leaderboard, and like a guild currency for redeeming exclusive guild items/equipment. Add Guild Raid Boss FrFr, Make Guild Base Editable, like playing animal crossing

remove tank sub stats (block and warding) from being scrollable.
PvP gets balanced based on squishies but block and warding never get taken into account, making it a horrible experience for glass cannons to fulfill their role (either by being fast and getting drive by kills or putting pressure/killing the enemy supports.

I would balance the game or hire someone to do it for me, same for bugs right after.

I would focus finishing old content instead of adding new ones
Then rework all of the current subclasses
