Here’s my thought on how this could go: Each item would be organized alphabetically (because that makes them easiest to find), within each item’s forum page (or chat or whatever) it has information on how that item is obtained (if it’s from a vendor, circle their location on the map and (emplace) or send the screenshot on the forum. If it’s a quest, show the quest giver location (on the map) and all the obtainment information (using the map as much as possible)) This would only be changeable/updatable by staff. From here there would also be two different sub-forums (or sub-sub category), one would be sellers of the item, and the other would be buyers of the item. These sub-forums would be available to the public to chat in. (kind of like nilgarf chat on the discord, but much more organized).
Update: the Vesteria Database is now live and connects to the community Forum. Add an Items category that includes subcategories: vanity, and non-vanity. and have each sub-subcategory based on each specific item within the game - #7 by berezaa
Replacing the wiki isn’t one of the goals of the forum.
I see, thanks for the clarification. Is your plan to have the forum be used for more professional interactions from the staff with the playerbase? Is it easier to track what a staff member does in the forum than in the discord?
If it is easier to track, we could possibly move all the bug reporting to this forum. Us testers could file a bug report towards the team leads, then team leads could push it to the devs if they recognize that the report isn’t a duplicate of a previous report.
The reporting system would need to have some sort of format though for the name of the bug report forum to make it easier to search up. perhaps: " itemname/abilityname | short explanation of the issue " then the details could be put into the forum
Bug Reports category has been opened.
I have a pretty exciting update for this request. While I originally said that replacing the wiki isn’t one of the goals of the forum, we’ve since created a new Vesteria Database website that shows information about all of the game’s items and abilities. As a supporting feature, we’ve added the ability to comment on any page using the Vesteria Community Forum. Clicking “Load Comments” on a page will create a thread on the forums automatically, and then you can reply to that thread to post a comment on the page. Check out the thread for Pitchfork for an example. This new feature effectively satisfies your original request. Enjoy!
This is a really neat accessible database! Some things I’ve noticed are that gifts don’t show the items obtained within them. I’ve also noticed that the database doesn’t show how to obtain an item or when an item was obtainable (for unobtainable items). I’m not sure how that could be implimented if that is the direction you are wanting to go. But overall, this databased will definitely be useful, especially the abilities tab. That will hopefully allow players to decide what class they are wanting to choose! Thank you for taking my suggestion and using it in a helpful way for Vesteria! ![]()
