We’re moving forward with our plan to diversify how monsters in Vesteria function to keep combat in the game unique. We want every new monster to have to be approached from different angles based on how they behave in the game and interact with players, and potentially other monsters.
I’m posting this to ask you guys, our community, to help provide ideas with us to make combat in Vesteria fun! If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them out. If you want to provide your idea, post on this topic!
Don’t be afraid to invent new things. If you want a new status effect added into the game, post it! If you want the monster to split into smaller pieces, do it! Should the mobs be able to group up into a bigger monster? Heck yeah, post it! The sky is the limit.
What information to include…
Give your monster a unique name
What level should your monster be? This will influence the level players need to be to reasonably fight it.
What does your monster look like? Try to be as detailed as you can, as if you were explaining it to someone who was going to build it.
Behavior and Mechanics
How does your monster interact in the world by itself, with players, and with other monsters?
Feel free to include any other information you feel you need to add to get your idea across.
Here’s an example:
Example of Venomous Spider
This monster can be found at level 17
It will look like a regular spider in Vesteria, however it will appear smaller (about 3x as small), have thinner legs, and be green with bigger fangs. As it walks, it leaves behind trails of green poison particles.
Behaviour and Mechanics
The Venomous Spider will avoid being near other spiders, and prefer to “guard” its own section of the spawn region. They’ll move pretty quickly and don’t do much damage on the initial hit. The bulk of their damage will be in that when you are damaged, you will be inflicted with a poisoned status effect that will deal 20 damage every second for 5 seconds. This can be refreshed by being hit by the spider again.

As a small disclaimer, don’t feel like your idea was rejected just because I approve of a monster that is posted after yours. I regularly go over ideas posted here whenever I’m looking for certain things that we might need. We might not always need a fire monster, but eventually if we do need one I’ll be specifically combing the thread for those types of monsters. The order monsters get accepted doesn’t automatically mean your monster is not being considered anymore.
